Membership Criteria

Criteria Role at the University
1 Individuals who are accountable for information security and privacy decisions according to University Policies, Standards, and Guidelines that are sponsored or endorsed by the PASS Council. Executive Heads of Major University Organizations (i.e. Vice Presidents, Vice Provost, Deans or Chancellors) or their direct reports (i.e. Associate or Assistant Vice Presidents, Vice Provost, Deans)
2 Individuals who provide oversight and direction on compliance with laws and regulations that have information security and privacy implications and impart a duty upon the University Subject Matter Experts for the laws and regulations
3 Designated Officials for information security and privacy incidents and breaches
  • University Facility Security Officer
  • Chief Privacy Officer for UW Medicine
  • Chief Privacy Officer for the non-UW Medicine Components of the Hybrid Industry
  • University Chief Information Security Officer
4 Experts for evaluating risk, liability, and control practices
  • Executive Director of Risk Management
  • Assistant Attorney General
  • Executive Director of Audits
5 Individuals who are accountable for managing information security and/or privacy at a College, School, or major organizational area of the University. Members are selected by the PASS Council Chair and asked to serve a two year term on the PASS Council.
